3D Milling Z axis to high on + side of concave surface

    Hello,

I was running a test convex & concave surface. Basically a bowl with a bump in the middle. It appears at the transition from running - to +. It ran flawlessly until this point 14000 line in or so.Z went to -0.2760. Clearly off material.I though at first it was too fast on feed where it went too high before stopping or maybe a backlash issue. I'm open for thoughts and suggestions. I'm glad i ran a test.

    Thanks

Without knowing more about your machine or how you're running it it's hard to say what the problem is, but I doubt it's backlash. It sounds more like a lost steps issue.

    Awerby,

I ran another test this evening. I did hear the Z stall or have some sort of issue. Subsequently same problem. I believe i was running to fast. I'll do some tweaking and see what happens.

    Thank you

Use the HSS, it is easier to determine the tool path.
