    Mitsubishi M70

Hello all, I am new to CNC Zone.
I have recently retrofitted a machine with M70V type B control. Overseas Mitsubishi representatives can't seem to assist me.
I am not good with programming machining programs. G codes etc...
This is the first retrofit that I have done. It is on a Lathe machine. 2 axis with Spindle.
There is one problem, every time the customer wants to run a G76, the NC comes up with P232 "No program no." (Looking for a subprogram)
The NC does G71 and G70 with no problems. Only not G76.
I switched the NC over to Mitsubishi format and adjusted the program (G71 and G76) of the customer to accommodate Mitsubishi format.
I ran the program again and then it comes up with P39 "No specification" (G code specified is not correct or something)
Look, it is a lovely and powerful control.
It just does not seem to recognize G76.
Funny thing is, when you type in G76 under "Edit" it shows in the G code explanations what G76 is for.
Also nothing incorrect in the program. Customer can run it on other controls.

Has anyone had this problem or anyone with knowledge of Mitsubishi M70/700?

    Thanks

    Ewan

    Re: Mitsubishi M70

I do retrofits using M700V controls. From what you say, I'd say:
First, make sure you are using the correct syntax.
    (G76 Pmra QΔdmin Rd ;
G76 X/U Z/W Ri Pk QΔd Fl ; ... Compound thread cutting cycle)
Second, make sure all your thread cutting and thread cutting cycle retract options are activated, they should be highlighted in blue (pretty sure they correspond to G76). If you paid for that option, which you did by default if you asked for a lathe cnc control when you made your purchase, they can send you an option file which is very easy to use to activate them.
Third, I would need to doublecheck how to get access to it, but the macro file that G76 calls is accessible, although it is unlikely there would be any mistake it would be a good thing to double check.

    Cheers.

    Hello botha.y

    Yes, thank you very much.
I found someone helpful at a Mitsubishi service centre.
I think what you are telling me now is what they also told me.
G76 is a macro file in the NC memory which I need to activate via a parameter.
Once I activate this parameter, it will bring up a few macro programs including a program for G76.
This is probably why I got Alarm P232. It is looking for this subprogram and I did not activate it. But it is there.
I did test this on my NC Trainer software and yes, once I activated that parameter, it brought up a lot of macro programs, and G76 was there.
The G76 program is written like NAVI programs with a lot of variables etc.

I will go test this at my customer's machine and let you know.

    Cheers
So I will try this procedure as they explained

I will test this soon and let you know if it worked.

    Cheers

    Re: Mitsubishi M70

There are parameters that have something to do with G76 but I would think there would be none to actually activate or deactivate an actual G-code, but then again I never worked with a M70V, only work with M700V. But if it is the option that is not activated you need the activation file from Mitsubishi, it wouldn't be just a simple parameter change.

    Cheers.
