    Hi Mike,

I realize now what the large hose you mentioned in your email was. It is the drain line from the old stand. It seemed to have been packed in the mill crate with your oil pump.

We are enjoying your videos also!

    Regards,

Yep...it took a bit, but I figured out that the hose was for the old stand. I might take it to work for the managers.......If I can get it between their neck and anus, they can get some air up to their brains.

I guess I forgot to post Teaser 1 here. Oh well....here's Teaser 2.

Been there and done that with the expletives! If you haven't ever done it, you are not a machinist.

    Hi mike

I have just watched your youtube vids at home just yesturday, and now find this thread.
Following with interest and great work by the way, I'm pretty much in the same boat just over the water in UK.
So been looking into my first CNC milling machine, I'm also new to cad/cam so this thread for me will help me along.

Keep up the good work, and that's not a crash but must be gutted though. Could have been a lot worse but thankfully just cosmetic.

    Hi Scooby,
    Thanks!
Not sure why I didn't get a notification for you post. It just dawned on me that I've been working on trying to get all the video edited, but I haven't been posting any of the links up here. Came here to do that and found your post.
I broke an X travel limit too already. I don't think they were threaded in far enough for cast iron, but I shouldn't have hit it either. Machine didn't even notice it....just dropped the part in the chip tray! LOL DOH!!!!

Coming along nice now, the machine looks bigger than what I imagined. Can you tell me the max length in inch from the floor to the max hight of the machine, I emailed novakon a while back and they said it should fit in my garage. But now I'm not to sure.

    Cheers

Max height, with the head fully up, is well under 8 feet. with the head down, its about 7 feet. It will easily fit in any standard garage.

Seems my garage is a tad to small, max room inside is 85 inch just over 7ft.

The drawing on the Novakon website shows the max height at about 83".

There's a good chance that the spec is with the head as high up as it goes. If they measured it properly, the measurement should also include any wires, wire carriers, motors, etc. The purpose if the max height spec is intended to answer your exact question (can I fit this machine under my ceiling?).

The manual says it's 79", so that's another possibility. I'd go measure mine, but I've removed the shroud so my machine isn't the same as what would be delovered to you.

I just unsubscribed and subscribed again. I haven't been getting any notifications that posts are being made.

I'll see if I can get a "fully extended" height today. I have the feet down somewhat low and I don't have the spacers between the mill and stand.

Re: Torus Pro with servos and 4th axis

I did do some vid on the height of the Pro......it's rendering right now so it should be up within the hour.

This is a short one from when I put the oil pump on. I realize the vast majority of the "experienced" guys on here will have no need or interest in these very basic and simple videos. I'm putting them up for the guys like me that like to see the trip between point A and B. I'm not trying to replace any of the awesome pics and info on this and other sites.....just add to it.
