I kits like the one below:
kit Includes:
3x ProboStep VX Uni-polar Stepper Motor Driver
3x HT23-400-8 400ozin Stepper Motor
PBX-2 Parallel Port Breakout Board
24Volt 6.5Amp Switching Power Supply
6ft. DB25 Male-to-Male Cable
3x 4" IDC Cable 10-pin
I look at the motor specs for this kit and each of these motors are rated at 4.2 amps per phase if wired in parallel. There are 3 motors here so that's 4.2 x 2 x 3 = 25.2 amps total. If they are wired in series then its 2.8 x 2 x 3 = 16.8 amps total. How can a 24v 6amp power supply be enough power to handle three motors?
