    Just got a used VF3, Tool pocket numbers are all over the place

    I just took delivery of a 2001 VF3 today and it seems as if the previous owner changed all of the tool pocket numbers for his own needs. For example when pocket #1 is facing the spindle it shows as tool 5 in the tool offsets page. Is there a way to restore the numbers back to the factory default so they are all in order? Its a side mount changer.

    You need to get hold of the manual and read all about pocket and tool numbering with the side mount changer, they are not the same number. Furthermore when the machine is running the tool number stays the same but the pocket number in which it is stored changes.

    Thanks Geof....I got it figured out. This is the first machine Ive owned with a SMTC so its a small learning curve.
