This might be what you are looking for.

    Turret Encoder Installation Instructions

    1. After wiring the new encoder or replacing current encoder.
    2. Select the MDI Mode from front operators panel.
    3. Set the PWE to 1. (See details of operation; refer to the Fanuc operation manual.)
    4. Set the PMC keep relay address K03 bit#0 to 1. (Check Supplemental Manual for Electrical Circuit Diagram)
    5. Rotate the encoder shaft manually until the alarm buzzer sounds.
    6. When the buzzer is on this indicates tool position #1.
    7. Carefully mount the encoder to the turret, making sure you do not lose the buzzer signal.
    8. Select the MDI Mode from front operators panel.
    9. Select SYSTEM, PMC, Then Counters.
    10. Set the CURRENT value of PMC counter No. 1 (C000) to the current tool number in the cutting position for the first spindle.
    11. Set the CURRENT value of PMC counter No. 2 (C004) to the current tool number in the cutting position for the second spindle.
    12. Set the PMC keep relay K03 bit#0 to 0.
    13. Set the PWE to 0. (See details of operation; refer to the Fanuc operation manual.)
    14. Turn the Fanuc control off and back on.
Note: The PMC keep relay K03 #0 is always set to “0” after adjustments.
