I built two drivers with the SI-7510 IC,
they do work, but I am not getting the required speed or torque, on the test setup.

I am using the original RMD596 5phase stepper motors (2.7A/phase, 120N.cm) from a EMCO turn 120 CNC lathe, that I am retrofitting.

For the test setup I have:
    - a 555 timer for the step signal
    - 24V 15A PSU

    Some pics:
    The lathe:

    Test Setup:

Board 2 (missing 2nd sense resistor):

    Schematic:

I am stuck and don't know what to change to get the required performance, the motor lacks torque and is nowhere near what I need. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a oscilloscope, and have measured the voltage across the sense resistor to peak at 2.4V -> 14.5A total with around 20% duty cycle, the current adjusting potentiometer has no effect on this, but it is at the max current that I am looking for.

Also when running the motor for +- 1 min, the driver turns off and holds the stepper in place.
The 0.33ohm, 5W sense resistors get quite hot, but the (p30nf10) transistors only get hot when the motor is stationary (I.E. no step signal or when it holds itself)

the attached schematic is updated with current values, the board is not linked anymore and has some mistakes.

Hello! I'm newbie in cnc. I have two 5ph vexta motors and two Si-7500A drivers for them. Сontrol sequence for this drivers is "2-3 phase excitation" . Can anybody explain me what does this logic sequence mean? Does it mean that only 2 or 3 coils can be excitated simultaneously? Like in this tutorial Jones on Stepping Motor Control Software

It is just like a 3 phases act in 3 phase motor case especially three phase delta connection.
    no neutral no phase LOL.
every wire changes +ve and -ve sequencing .I mean in a special pattern sequence.
