Can somebody share how they tuned their DMM Tech Servos/Drives? I have DYN-3 drives and the 750W servos that I would like to tune.

How did you make out with tuning?
I have the same drive/servo combination and will need some guidance. They work with the default values listed in the dmm servo drive program (DMMDrv) but I'm sure they need proper tuning once mounted to the machine.

For tuning it will depend on what machine they are mounted on,& the load they are seing, you don't really have to much to tune, if you are using Step/Dir, you only have 3 parameter to adjust, the most important part that you have to have correct is the settings in your control, for your steps/per, this has to be correct before you do any Drive tuning

Nobody has been able to tell me how to properly tune these motors, not even DMM so I just had to guess on the main, speed and integration gains. I don't think my motors are tuned as well as they should but they work.
The manual was not of very much help either. In short, tuning these motors really, really SUCK.

Sorry no build log. I'll post something on the build eventually when I get a bit further into converting my lathe.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around Linuxcnc for control.

On the DMM drives:
If the servos are used in step/direction mode, the internal drive parameters will be in effect for pid tuning correct?
If the servos are used in analog mode, are the internal pid values dismissed and only accepted from the host controller?

It would be convenient if DMM offered an autotune program.

You are not giving us enough information,to help you what type of machine are you using ???

What control are you using ???

If you are using Step/Dir, it is very easy, you only have to get it close, the Drives adjust to the load they are seeing, ( Dynamic Adaptive Control ) which is better than any auto tune will ever be

Unfortunately if your control settings are not correct then the Drives will not give you a good result

Dmm can only give you a guide on what should work, they can not setup your control or your machine, only you can do that, I could help you but you have to output information on what you are trying to do

I find them very easy to setup, as others have to, so you have something going on for them to not be working right for you
