Hitachi deskstar hard drive out of a Dell computer the other is a Western Digital and both have totally different plugs on them so I am not sure how that will work at all

get an enclosure and put the hard drive in and use it like a thumb drive

Bought a nifty one at best buy fir $40 bucks easy to use .

OK I have the Mach 3 up and running off of the external hard drive . now everything is hooked up ( using both computers due to a couple wires that control the power switches for the drives that's how the original owner had it hooked up and I cant figure out how to change them to the new computer they are just power wires ) I cant seem to get the machine to run as it is kicking errors to the VDF .

Well all said and done. The original owners father came over to help trouble shoot and after so e test and scratching our heads and running some wires and a few phone calls to his son we figured out how to get everything going with the new PC. !!! Oh and installing mach 3 correctly helped out a lot lol
