Hi all,

This is the first post and probably the first of many as I have just obtained a Sodick A320D with EX21 control.
The floppy drive is no longer working on my machine and I need to use RS232. I bought a USB simulator but have found it is not compatible with the PC.
My question is: What is the pin configuration for the RS232 cable (9 pin at computer end)?
And what are the serial settings in the machine and computer? ( I am using CIMCO editor )?
Also how do I send and receive using the control? do I use EDIT then SERIAL IN / SERIAL OUT?

Is there anyone out there that is using a Sodick A320D with EX21 control that is currently communicating via RS232? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I am not using a Sodick A320D with EX21 control or RS 232. I have a EPOC 300 with a MARK 11 control and I gave up trying to get RS 232 to work. I ended up paying through the nose for new disk drives. But I do have some information that may help you. I got this PDF from Sodick some years ago.

I will give this a go and let you know if it works. It is a different RS232 cable configuration to what I am currently using so fingers crossed.
