    Sorta new shop.

Had lots of trash talking on another forum but figured I would post up some pics of the shop for inspiration to others interested in getting into machining. Granted we do have a ton of cash invested but you really can get started for much less and blow up pretty fast with the right contacts.

After having the mill and lathe for a few months, we decided to pull the trigger on another piece of equipment!

What waterjet is complete without a pressbrake? Few more months of negotiating and we made the decision to buy this beast.

Wow awesome! Not sure who would have gave you a hard time. Must have been over at practical machining, they are pretty tough crowd. I'd probably be banned if they knew what little chinese machines I'm trying to use.

Those stronghold tables are SWEET! And all the rest of that stuff is pretty nice too. Congrats!

I wouldn't worry over people that have a different agenda. Jealous maybe, I know that if I were a lesser man, that I might fall into such a lowbrow state. OK - call me a lesser man - I'm SO positively JEALOUS! But I'm very happy for you too.

On a serious note, what are the unfinished paddle looking things on the flat?

    Re: Sorta new shop.

Liked the shop pics. Good idea with the "silent" compressor. I am partial to Curtis recip compressors. Have been listening to my 1st one since 1984. This fall we had to make room for a new Haas EC1600 and we gave both compressors the silent treatment. Even quieter than yours. I built a separate 14 x 20 building, insulated & heated, with exhaust fan for summer. Buried 2-3/4" copper lines to the CNC shop and 1- 3/4" line to the other shop. A lot of money, but I hear nothing, plus gained some storage space for other stuff. Can turn on & off, monitor temp, and see run status with a stack light from the CNC shop. No need to go to the AC hut.
