Hi mates,


Can somebody gives me a clear tutorial on how to use the TOOLPATH SPILT function in Edgecam.

Im trying to do a PROFILING operation , but i dont want the toolpath to go all around the workpiece. Im only interested on a specific area of the profile, and i understand the "split" command is the key.

Can i be helped on how to achieve this?

have you tried using the start and end extensions in the start/end tab of profile?

a positive number will extend the cut off the geometry and a negative will advance the cut from the start point.

i am not familiar with the split but i am curious how it works now

Instead of splitting the tool path; have you tried projecting the geometry and using that projected line as the profiling path? You can also create a boundary to keep the tool from cutting anywhere by where you specify.

Exactly, easiest way, just use a wire frame line from the profile of the part you want to profile, and then trim the line to where you want to start and end the path.

I am also not familiar with the split.
