    Floating head

    Hey guys, I need to be able to cut / engrave on a surface of material a specific height regardless of the stock lack of uniformity.
    I was told the way to do this is with a floating head. I have see some youtube videos if this but I am wondering how it actually works / or is there one that is commercially available for DIY CNC machines?

    guys so I did a few searches, but I still can't come up with how with work. Any help would be appreciated.
