    x axis soft limit switch

Hello there I have got an yang turning centre with a fanuc ot control the problem I have is that I am using a 10mm dia boring bar all the tools are set correctly but it wont let me move the boring bar to under 11.4 mm dia the x axis over travel alarm comes up. I have checked in the back of the machine and there is about 50mm travel to go before it will hit its hard switch, there is obviously a parameter setting that changes the soft limit switch. but as I am new to FANUC I have no idea how to change this so any help would be appreciated

A common cure is to hold Can(cel) 'P' and power up while holding the keys.

    Hallo Barry,

Do you have the OT Parameter Manual GFZ (B) - 61400, check page 78, and page 29 how to change the parameter settings.

Check parameter 0704, X negative direction and change the value.

cheers for that heavy metal I have not got the parameter manual. but I have found the parameter and it is currently set at -222000 I take it this is the distance from the x axis reference point.
I have tried to change it would only let me enter another value whilst in MDI mode I entered the value -233000 but when I press the input button nothing changes and the value stays the same, is there some sort of protection on the system to prevent parameters being changed as I said any help would be very grateful I have never used FANUC before but have a lot of experience with SIEMENS controls.

Setting handy page, Parameter Write Enable to 1 in MDI (some machines also want EStop), but be carefull as it will change anything to the wrong value if you tell it to. Best to back up before changing parameters. Be sure to shut off PWE when done.
