That's only a small percentage of what I've done in the last year.

The first pic is a small door cross made of Chechen.

Next is all new hardware for a Tele. Ambrosia pickguard and pickup covers. Chechen bridge and switchplate.

The next 3 are a cherry medieval sword I designed in acad.

Then a 30x24 inch fossil I designed in Hobart.

A 3 by 12 inch guitar speaker cab for kicks.

A aluminum modular vise for holding stock.

A double sided pine sign for my sister's neighborhood.

A hickory fret bender for compound radius fretboards.

Then 3 pics of a hickory practice sword with hdpe tsuba.

4 pics of another samurai sword. Also hickory with a walnut handle and tsuba and a pine sheath.

The last two are miscellaneous crosses and designs. The larger crosses are dogwood and Chechen. The smaller pendants are hard maple inlaid into Chechen. The other two are just test patterns for other more intricate projects.

All 3d models were done in autocad. The machining was done in bobcad 21 / bobart and mastercam x.

The gears are cut from Baltic birch plywood. I would love to try metal but my cnc router wont do them. I may try plexi glass or acrylic at some point to see how that works.

Very nice work!
I have been working off and on a similar project for a few months now in both metal and acrylic.
Using the complexity of clock designs to keep me frosty at the drawing board, but mostly to learn cam and mill operation skills. "learning v26 drawing and cam slowly"

First part is a vane defuser the vanes are about .25 wide and stand about an inch tall. That one if I remember right was 46 inch in diameter.

Next 2 pics were a sole plate. The keys are an inch tall and about 24 inches long. That plate is around 3.5x26x78.5 we mill it from a 4 inch thick plate.

Did some sign work for a friend's new store. 1" deep Vcarving into 2" thick foam. The big one is about 23' long, in 3 sections. Smallest is cut from a single 8' sheet. My machine needs 3 setups to cut 8' length, so a lot of operations here. I think about 48, total, in 16 setups. V26 made this a lot easier to manage than previous versions would have.

I didn't paint or hang them, or the 2 small signs wouldn't be crooked... Sorry about the image quality, I need to pick better light conditions next time I'm by there.

Some cool work, indeed! JR, glad to see you finally got around to that calendar. It's awesome! Are you going to do any unusual finish work, like anodization, etc., or just go with the bare metal look? Either way, it's way cool!

Started with V24 that I got with the machines when I bought out another company. I was about ready to slit throat trying to deal with v24 but the guys on here talked me into upgrading to v27 and glad I did it saved me a lot of $$. V27 is worlds better then 24. I have the Pro Version v27 Mill/Lathe/Bobart. If you do any 3D work for sure go with Pro, the Pro toolpaths are all I use pretty much if doing 3D.

My mill is a 2006 Haas TM2. Also have a 2011 TL2.

You are quite welcome. Honestly though, you're work is quite impressive. Bobcad is really great with how to videos on youtube and stuff but rarely can you find work that was actually done using BC.

A little bit about myself, I'm a hobbyist CNC'ist that built my own 3 axis router table. I use mostly Vectric Aspire but did buy BC v24 about 4 years ago. I didn't really do anything much with it. My dad on the otherhand owns a smaller machine shop. Mostly manual machines with the exception of a CNC lathe. They don't use any CAM for it though. Just the on screen intuitive system.

I'm happy to report though that next Thursday a 2012 Haas VF3-YT50 is being delivered to the shop. It's a demo unit right from Haas that has only a couple hundred hours on it. Dad finally stepped up and is taking on new ventures. I upgraded to v27 3 axis Standard in May knowing that the shop was going to get something soon. Just a few weeks ago I actually worked out a deal with BC and got a great deal on upgrading to 3 axis PRO. Our Haas is preloaded with the HSM option so I thought PRO would be best.

Bummer that I bought v27 just 2 months ago and now v28 is available today. I have the demo loaded and don't really see where I really need to jump on it. And seeing what you did with v27 shows us that 27 is more than enough for our needs.

Question for you, Were you able to run stock Haas post processors or did you have to modify one or have BC modify one for you?
