Re: CAMSOFT WITH GALIL DMC 1866 - LIMIT SWITCH ACTIVE NOT SO RESPONSIVE
Hello Arul,
This maybe an easy one.
There are 3 ways to control how the axis stop when a over travel limit is hit.
(1) By default the motion card it itself separate from Windows will disable the amp drive. The amp drive will be turned off and the motors go limp. The table will coast to a stop. You can disable this function using the CONFIGLIMITS command.
(2) The faster your travel speed is, the more influence the weight & momentum of the table have , which may take longer to decelerate to a stop. You can set a high DECEL to stop at a quicker / faster rate.
(3) You can use the logic command SETESTOP NODECEL NORELEASE to control how & when motion stops under both an E-STOP condition or over travel. This command with these options will stop the machine immediately and not disable the amp drives, holding the axis position steady at a dead stop using closed loop servoing.
Use choice (3) if this is the Z axis and there is no counter balance to keep the head from falling under gravity.
Caution: Stopping abruptly will be hard on your nuts and screws.
