    Homemade lathe spindle

    Hello,
    I am building a deep hole drilling machine for making gun barrels and I am looking for ideas on building a spindle with no end play. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Preloded angular contact bearings should have no end play and permit high speed (rpm). In duplex arrangement, they should also handle axial thrust for drilling.
