    Boy 15S mold base

I don't see any mention in the manual for my Boy 15S machine about mold design. I know there are water inlets and outlets for the mold that need to be located correctly (and are there O-rings or gaskets to seal them to the machine) and the sprue bushing must be the correct size and location on the mold. I wonder if perhaps there is some industry standard for these items that I might be able to find a drawing for. Any help here?

The mold it's self, if it has water heating/cooling in the mold, all the sealing for this is in the mold design, the heated/cooling water is piped into the mold from your mold heater, this is separate from the machine

Your mold size, is what will fit between the tie-bars on the machine, or the mounting holes on the platens will give you a good idea of the max size mold that will fit, this does not mean that you can make a part that big, your part size is related to the clamp tonnage, shot size & pressure that you can inject into the mold

The Boy machines come with more than one Screw/Barrel option, so you have to know what screw size you have as to the shot size you will have, from this shot size you will know how big a cavity you can fill, you can not use the whole shot, there has to be some left in the Barrel as a cushion & for packing, do some searching on the internet for injection molding basic's

I hope you got a working machine, most of the older machines have had there day, If they are not running don't buy them , they are a cheap price for a reason
