    Unhappy

    Hello guys
    I’m concerned with the topic trochoid milling at the moment.

    Unfortunately I can’t get anywhere. The nut is opened from two sides outside. I’d like to machine this nut in form of a trochoid, to say semicircles in the whole width of the nut. I tried it with the job profile, pocket and 3D job. Nothing works.

    Has anyone tried to do that?

    Greetings

    Hello HugoBalder

    I’ve tried trochoid milling but not with SolidCam.

    I use TrueMill from Surfcam.
    Works great, even with fine materiel, such as titanium or 1.2343 54HRC etc.

    Hello
    I defined the job in the following way.

    Profile job with the right edge of the nut in milling direction, tool diameter (10mm), measurements against the wall (0) and radius (5) in the trochoid-job result a scrubbed nut with a width of 20mm.

    HI

    It would be hard with the both examples, because it covers directly at the edge.

    @Hunterkoile

    But the problem is solved due to Paranuit. Only someone who it occurs to, to mill trochoid, can file such small things. Or are you more Catholic than the Pope?

    Result: trochoid works.

    Hello

    @Hunterkoile:

    It was a matter of how the job should be defined.
    So it doesn’t matter whether I start in the midst of the unit or not.
