    Hello everyone

I have the following problem: A customer gave me a normal drawing (I don’t know why..) Of course I have to scan it in but what program should I use? Or how can I import the file into Tebis?
Unfortunately I don’t have a program that changes files into Dxf or step..

    Many thanks in advance

If I were in your position I would wonder if the afford it justified –maybe you can charge a fee as the customer has not given you the necessary file?!
If you want accurate parts in the end, then forget the scanning idea. With a scan you won’t get any vector data and then you would have to vectorize which can lead to adulterations and inaccurate results. Hence a lot of re-work might be necessary.
I would draw it again via CAD if you need a clear/error free data basis- as hard as it might sounds!

    Thank you first of all

I haven’t explained that very well. The part is more a very complicated engraving which has to be placed onto an exciting part in a dimensionally accurate manner. I have the part as a CAD file-but the drawing of the engraving is missing. But going back to your advice- I don’t need any vectors for an engraving, do I?

    Any other ideas?

    Kind regards
