Help With a DXF to NC Code Conversion

    Hello,
I have been trying to convert the following to nc code, using a variety of programs downloaded or purchased. G Code 2000, K Cam, Bob Cad, Mach 2, Desk CNC, all are good products, but when I convert the attached DXF, I get the attached NC. When I run this NC code in CNC simulator, or Kcam, I get a mess!!!! My plan is to use the nc code in my DIY cnc router (the part is to be made out of wood). The DXF was made in AutoCAD 2000 by a friend of mine. I am looking for software I can load my DXF into and get nc/g code that will work with a cnc router. Thanks in advance for the help.

You need to get rid of all the extra stuff in the dxf. All the dimensions, notes, arrows, paperspace layouts. Everything except what you want to cut. If all cuts are the same depth, put everything on a single layer. Only use multiple layers if you need different depths for different lines. And save as R12 .dxf I did all this and used ACE http://www.dakeng.com and it looks fine in NC Plot. See pic.

Keep in mind that you may need to offset the lines the toolpath radius, depending on the CAM software you're using.

    G'day
I use AutoCad 14 to process the DXF file, then open it in Mastercam 8 to make the nc file. It works fine for me. See my avatar. From a photo in in Adobe Photoshop to Autocad to Mactercam.

Since he mentioned he has a few inexpensive software packages, I doubt he has $10K for MaterCAM.

In DeskCNC you right click to control what is selected ( all, region, single, etc). Select just what you want to cut and create your toolpaths, selecting the tools you plan to use, the offset directions, and setting your feeds, speeds, and depths of cut. Use drilling for the small circles, if they are the same size as your router bit.

The toolpaths will be immediately apparent in DeskCNC, and can be simulated or cut, by switching to "Machine toolpaths".

The thread looks 11 years old, the guy never answered any of the posts to help him , I expect he gave up or got it sorted
