Howdie!
A newbie machinist question on Fanuc controllers. I tried to search this topic on internet and on this forum, but had no results.
So in which order are Fanuc controllers released? I mean, is bigger number always more advanced and more expensive version of Fanuc controller?
I have seen or read about Fanuc-6T, 0T, 16-iPA, 18T, 18-TC, 18M, 180-TC, 21T.
Is 0T the oldest or is it like year (200)0 version of Fanuc? Is 180 "better" than 21 or just an updated 18?
What I've heard so far about letters:
T = turning
TC = turning center?
M = milling
iPA = no idea
i = no idea
I'd like to know a little about this Fanuc logic behind their naming habits. It's like I would go to a car shop without knowing that BMW 520i ain't the same car as BMW M5.
By the way - why can't I find any Fanuc Operators manuals in pdf-format. Are they sold only in printed format for some reason? Fanuc www-sites don't seem very informative either. Doesn't seem very user friendly or inspiring...
Any help is appreciated! :wave:
