    Good morning,

I have a problem with our Okuma machines, a P100 controller, a U10L but both have the same problem:

If you take out a part after thread turning and you put it in again afterwards, then it’s impossible to get the machine back into the same thread. With our Siemens machine its really easy, simply drive into the thread with the threaded steel, press sync. Button- and its done!

Okuma doesn’t have such a function, doesn’t it? And if you increase or decrease the speed when thread turning, then you can see exactly how the steel runs out of the thread. That’s also not the same with the Siemens.

Would be grateful for any help!

    bGood evening,
of course there are always special machines that offer extra functions that others don’t have, or just offer as an option.
OKUMA machines are in general made for series work and not as a repair machine.
Thread re-cuts are generally not the usually day to day work. However there are possibilities to carry out such tasks:
Both functions are available as software options: the thread re cut and also the change of speed when thread-cutting.

    See you later

You can re-cut threads on the Okuma with a little trick: You need to mark the thread entrance point onto the lining, then always insert the part exactly like it. It’s not the best solution but it works.
