    Good evening everybody

    Is it always necessary to declare a centre point of a circle with i and j in case of G64 and with i and k in case of G18 not considering in which level one mills?

    Regards, chris

    Hello ch-perfomance

    The axes change depending on the working level [G17/G18/G19] – so the distance to a circle centre has to be programmed in different ways.

    For G17 -> I & J
    For G18 -> I & K
    For G19 -> K & J

    I, J & K refer to the axes X, Y & Z.
    It means:

    X - I
    Y - J
    Z - K

    So you have to program I and K for G18 where you’ve got XZ as a machining axis.
