    Problem milling MDF.

I am a newbe with a tabletop CNC router table which uses a Rotozip.

When cutting MDF with a new 1/4 inch two flute carbide end mill, the edges of the material are left rough and frayed. Depth: 0.10, Feed: 60 ipm, RPM: 15m.

I am producing molds for casting urethane rubber which will be used to cast plastics.

Any suggestions on other inexpensive milling substrates would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Jim

Many thanks for the speed rate guide. Based on this, my rpm is set too high. I will make the adjustment and run a test.

    Regards, Jim
