    Hello

I am new here and hope you are able to help me out.
    I have the following problem:
I have created a contour in Shopmill that I would like to mill now
My raw part is so big, that my cutter would leave some residual material.
That’s why I thought about the soft key “mill contour” > "mill studs", so that I can chip plane Z immediately to the final depth and in plane XY about 5 mm.

So far it was clear to me.

However in the simulation it looks like I mill a pocket.
    Can anybody help me out?

    Thank you

    Hello
When milling contour studs, you need two contours.
The first contour describes a raw part and the pre-processed contour. The second contour describes the contour that is to be processed. When both contours are defined, both are combined in the editor with a bracket afterwards, only then the simulaton works properly.
With the cycle contour studs you are NOT able to mill a pocket. Unless you pressed the wrong soft key by accident.

    Hello Hapo

    Exactly that was my mistake.

I thought that the raw part description at the beginning is enough for the simulation!
I knew I cannot mill a pocket with the soft key. It only looks like this in the simulation

    Thank you for the help
