    Hello dear community

I have the following problem. A driving shaft should be processed which has 6 fit seating. The wave needs to be rough-turned and grinded afterwards.
My question: Is the grinding tolerance equal for each diameter or is it also allowed to give e.g. 1mm tolerance to one diameter and 1.25 for a different one?
    I ask because I have 3 steps from 24k6 to 24,7 to 25k6.

I hope I expressed myself clearly and I am looking forward to your answers.

    Regards
    Tomas

.... you can also leave 10mm grinding allowance but I guess your grinder will probably strangle you.

The best to talk with the grinder what he thinks is useful. In our firm 0,2+0,05 common.

What grinding allowance is displayed on the sketch? Maybe it’s best to stick to that.

It’s also interesting if the wave will be cased-harden.
Not that the surface layer will be gone and then its soft again.

I would always take the grinding allowance in the same relation, because then the grinder might have it easier to keep the length of the fit or rather the particular diameter and he doesn’t have to seach for it.

Otherwise use a grinding allowance depending on the intended purpose
