The offers from all the different manufacturers of tool grinding machines are massive!

Rollomatic, Walter, Schütte, Haas, Michael Deckel, Saacke, ...etc.

If you have a sale representative from one manufacturer in your house, then he says his own machines are the best ones and can do more than the ones from the competition.

I would be interested to find out, what you guys as practitioner would say:

What machine is the best/worst?

What controller do you prefer?

What grinding software has proven to be the best to construct special tools?

As a former temporary employee in a grinding firm, I can say the following:

Regarding machine and application technology, I would say Reinecker grinding machines from the firm UWS

- Here the post important stuff e.g. gripper and pallet unit can be easily and quickly adjusted
- They keep their dimension flawlessly when the room and oil temperature is constant
- the ones with a big diameter are very powerful and with small ones still accurate
- (suitable for groove and finish-machining)
- also suitable for bigger series
- large paths of traverse


I can also recommend Strausak machines

- They are small and sweet =) and therefore very accurate
- Suitable for single processing or small series
- Not suitable for grooves with large diameter, suitable for finish grinding


Also recommendable are Saacke machines
- Very powerful like Strausak
- Large traverse paths


Walter, well...
- Did not convince me
- Controller to confusing
- Very suitable for mass productions
