    Mach3 Usb Motion Control Card

Hi I'm using USB motion card -

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/CNC-USB-Smooth-Stepper-For-Mach3-Smooth-Stepper-Motion-Control-With-Terminals-/181442354187?pt=UK_BOI_Industrial_Automation_Control_ET&hash=item2a3ece9c0b

with MACH3. after typing G-code in the MIDI box, the machine start work, but MACH3 writes me this message:

    Move, Give up Sync![Movement Info]

I have two axis (X,Y) and my axis are not sync. I don't know what can it be.

I'm using servo motors with the controllers set up to Stepper Emulation Mode (means it reads the step/dir as it was a stepper controller). when I check the servo monitor - it has no error, means that it goes the same amount of steps that it gets from the signal coming out of MACH3.

This error above is very suspected... does anyone know what does this error mean?

I'm working with unlicensed copy of MACH3 (jest haven't purchased licensed yet). could it effect?

    thanks a lot,

    Liron

Looks like a message from the plugin for the USB motion controller. You need to contact the manufacturer for help with that.

Re: Mach3 Usb Motion Control Card

Hi, thanks for your reply. Yes I also guess that it comes from the card itself.

    Anyway - solved my problem.

Surprisingly, it had noting to do with the error, although the coincidence....

As I said I'm using servo motors with very sophisticated controllers. these controllers have couple of operating mods. one of them is Step/Dir. in addition, for every mode there are couple of inputs I can use, depend on the voltage and frequency coming from the CNC controller (in that case - MACH3).

I've checked the signal with oscilloscope and I've noticed that that are many noises on the siganl between mach and the controller. I've unplugged the cable from the controller input, and stayed only with my motion card, and then the noises were gone.

It turned out that the input I where using in the controller hasn't optocouplers in it (although my motion card does). the noises were "understood" by the controller as extra steps (and sometimes caused missing steps) and this is what made my axis not sync. I've changed to another input - an optocoupled one, and now it works accurately and stable.

I was explained latter by someone that servo systems particularly make a lot of noises and optocoupled inputs must always be used. In all the examples I've seen in Youtube until now - stepper where used. so I didn't think of this direction at all...

Still have that error though, but at least, my machine works well.

Hope someone will learn something from my experience.
