Running Bridgeport Interact 1 series 2 mill on a rotary phase converter

    Hello,

I am new to CNC and with a bit of luck this week will be the proud owner of a fully functioning Bridgeport Interact 1 series 2 with a TNC2500. I'm going down to see it and apparently it's a nice machine. I intend drip feeding it from a PC.

I have a single phase workshop here at home and have a nice rotary phase converter from Transwave that currently powers my manual Bridgeport turret mill and my Hardinge HCT chucker (not at the same time). For convenience, I would ideally like to install the Interact here at home using the same (or other more suitable) converter. Although I wouldn't want to do this if it is a risky option that could damage the machine. I do have the option of renting a small area with 3 phase power locally at the cost of £50/month and some inconvenience.

I was hoping y'all could shed some light on the potential pitfalls of running them on a converter and how you would go about doing it if it is a good idea.

    Thanks,

    Dan
