Slave axis motor turning slower only sometimes.

I have slaved my A axis to my X axis. What happens is that the A will be off because it turns slower only sometimes. I have swapped motors drivers and power supplys. Thank you in advance

It may not be running slower, if the machine is not binding up then it could be missing steps.
If you still need help, then describe the pc and software your using.

Thank You for responding I have mach3 on a dell tower. I switched the pin outputs in mach and the problem stays the same. I then swap the outputs of the controller and the problem changes. I put the connections back at the controller and swap the drivers and the problem is the same. I am using a ebay purchased breakout board controller and seperate drivers.

What are the settings you have for,

    ports and pins: kernal speed
    motor tuning: step pulse
    motor tuning: dir pulse
