I have a dyna mechtronics dm4400m with the following motors that I would like to reuse, or replace with similar servos.

Any good source for ideal replacement drives at an economical price for the home hobbiest ?

Yes there are lots of posts about the 4400m I have gone through that and several others to gather as much information about it as possible to see what I could make fit.
They talk about granite drivers but I’m not seeing any success recently with driving the original motors.

Hi,
unless you're 100% familiar with servos with their associated encoders and/or resolvers sounds like a good recipe for spending lots of money
buying new drives for your existing servos only to find they do not match each other as well as you hoped.

If you are new to AC servos do yourself a favor and buy a matched pair, that is the servo AND the drive. Delta (Taiwanese brand made in China) and
DMM (Canadian brand made in China) are two good quality brands that perform well, are well supported at reasonable prices.

I am a lot more comfortable using steppers than servos of any flavor.

But as I understand a mill the size of the dm4400 runs best with servos so should I embark on learning servos, or could I get a big enough set of closed loop steppers to get pretty good performance out of this thing?
