    Spindle spinning in reverse

Does anyone know how to fix this? Im afraid to monkey with the wiring on the new sensorless vector drive but the wiring is solid according to the directions. Unfortunately the spindle spins in the wrong direction. Could it be a setting in Mach 3? I can switch the manual toggle on the front enclosure to to "reverse" to get it to spin correctly, but when I run any code it goes back to reverse rotation.

    THoughts?

Generally swapping any pair of the three leads between a VFD and a 3-phase motor will reverse the direction of rotation while keeping everything else unchanged.

So it doesnt matter which pair? Is there anything that would cause this since nobody else seems to have this issue?

If it just started this it's probably Mach3. Since it works correctly from the main control panel if I understand correctly. Reload Mach3 see what happens. Yes swapping any two wires reverses direction.

Ok, Ive read that swapping the A and C lines is the most common practice. My wires are labeled U W V so thats no help.

And this all started when the new VFD was installed so far as I can tell. I havent run the thing in so long due to driver issues I cant remember when it ran correctly last. I do remember making cuts "manually" but had to reverse the rotation on the panel control board to make it work.

And its a new install of mach 3.

    Hi Swampdonkey,
A,B,C 1,2,3 U,V,W. All the same just swap ANY two output wires on your VFD to the motor. This will reverse the rotation.

It's better to ask than let the magic white smoke out.

So apparently I cant edit posts on here for some reason.

But which wires should I swap? On the motor inside the little box on the side?

Ah! It seems to have worked. I swapped out wires 400 and 402 from the VFD to the motor. Seems to work OK.

Thanks a ton. As usual, you guys are invaluable!

Did you get your new drivers figured out yet?
