    Unhappy CUTTING CIRCLES!

I have two CnC machines. They are both Selexx Pal's. One is about 25 years old and the other is brand new... For some reason when I try to cut 32" diameter rings I'm getting an egg shape!!! Both machines are doing this and I can't figure out why!!

I'm cutting 3/16" aluminum sheets (3 passes) with a 3/8" end mill. I've never had issues with circles before. Running EnRoute(version 5) software on a PC. Any thoughts??? Seems more like a software thing to me...

    Any ideas help!!

    thanks!

Could be mechanical. Slop (backlash) in ballscrew(s)/nuts, excess motion due to loose bearings in the ballscrew support bearings(fixed end), compliance in the ballnut mount.

Could also be the timing of the axis drives have gotten out of sync.,

I'm not familiar with your software but check to see if there is some kind of arc deviation in the software and set it to 0. You may have to take a couple finish passes with the feed rate turned way down.

Is your program trying to do it line by line or in arc movements? That makes a difference also.
