Okuma Howa Millac 3VA - Fanuc 0M - Spindle Issue

    Hello all,

I have a Okuma Howa Millac 3VA with Fanuc 0M. When I was running a program, the tool went to its Z position to start the cut and was spinning at 3200RPM, after a few seconds I noticed it wasn't moving in the X direction like it should, and I saw that the spindle slowed down to about 30RPM. I reset, homed out and tried again, and nothing happens. It won't move, but it won't alarm out either. If i restart the machine and give it an M19, it does nothing, but again no alarm. It doesn't even try to orient. If I restart the machine and give it just and S100 (no M4/M3 - so it shouldn't spin at all, just load the RPM into memory) it starts to spin at about 30RPM. The command never finishes, so the cycle start light is on, the spindle is slowly rotating, and no alarms. It will do this until I hit reset. After that you can't put anything in terms of spindle commands. (I can still give G0 and G1 commands and it moves correctly).

    Any thoughts?

    John

looks like no feedback signal about spindle rotation. or, spindle motor drive fault.
