    Flame cuting table problem

    Hi everyone!

    This is my first post and thanks to your experience and advice I made a CNC metal cutting and CNC Flame.

    [CENTERAttachment 254216Attachment 254218][/CENTER]

    Mach3
    X=12000mm
    Y=2000mm
    Z=400mm

    The problem arises when we warm up and spread sheet that I cut. The easy part of the sheet moves across the table and so we run with coordinates.
    The table shown is only a temporary solution and I plan to replace it with metal spikes.

    Does anyone have similar problems and how they are resolving.
    Thank you!

    Part of the sheet that I cut because of temperature shifts on the table. The figure shows how much goes severed part.

    "Sheet moves" is normal in cnc cutting. two reasons:
    1. sheet is heated and easy to be deformed.
    2. Sheet itself has stress.
    Of course, there are some solutions as I know.
    1. buy a special device to reduce the stress.
    2. Not do edge piercing.
    3. change the table into water injection table, that can reduce the heat influence on sheet.

    Hope it can help you.

    I call this device "vibratory stress relief"...see the following picture I googled.
    I can not recommend, because I only know little about this stress relief device.
    Hope you can google and find what you need.

    Re: Flame cuting table problem

    you can solve it by not start cutting from the very edge of the metal plate, you'll have to start the cut by piercing about 8 to 10 mm into the plate from the edge, that way the piece you are cutting will still be bond to the rest of the plate, then after you complete the cut, get back and cut the remaining 10mm section. That's how we do it at work, the heat added to the metal will allways cause this effect, and some of the two pieces have to move, and it will allways be the smallest (lighter) piece, so in your case, the square you are cutting moves cause its lighter than the rest of the steel plate. this will also occur in long cuts. Try as i told you and you'll see.

    Good luck!

    Thanks for your reply.
    Exactly what I'm doing or use the "bridge frame".
