Hi all,

I have a 50W Chinese Laser Cutter
(This model - 50W CO2 Laser Engraving U Flash Disk Desktop Device Engraver Cutter Special BUY | eBay)

I've been using it for about 6 month. Today a fuse blew off. And every time I change it, it instantly blows off again, so I blew off 6 of 7 fuses in a row.
And I have no idea what can be a problem.

I am using the right kind of fuses. When I bought this machine, the fuse went off the very first day, so I bought a bunch of fuses to replace and it worked for 6 month without a problem.

I've tried to contact technical support before regarding other question, and it is hopeless, to say the least. So I don't think I will get any decent answer from them.

I was using my machine today for around 10 minutes, so it would not be overheated.
I've checked water pump and air pump separately - they are working fine.

Electrical stuff is one of my weakest points. So I really need an advice.
What might be the problem? What can I check? What shall I do (don't want just blow off fuse after fuse without understanding what going on)?

We guess it should be the main power wiring short circuit,
did you check it?

How can I check it?
As I mentioned before, electrical stuff is my weak point.

Do I need to have some special equipment to be able to cheek it?

here are main reasons cause fuse constantly blows off

1.the wires of machine get old. some where short circuit (you need check everywhere of wire carefully )
2.key switch
3.emergency switch

ok try to use another receptacle from your house, if this blow the fuse too then disconnect the laser power supply and check if it blows the fuse, if yes then disconnect the low voltage power supply, if this blows the fuse again then you have a internal wire problem what probably can only found from a electrician.
if the fuse stays on after you disconnect the laser power supply you need a new one, the same with the low voltage power supply.

I've checked the wires. Just by the look of it - they look fine.
However I've tried to start my machine again with an open cover and I noticed a spark inside of laser power supply box. I've checked it twice. Every time I press start button there is a spark inside of power supply box and the fuse blows off.

Does it worth it to call an electrician to have a look at it, or is it just better to replace the laser power supply?

Herby, I've tried to use another receptacle it still blows the fuse. I will try again with disconnected laser power supply now.

Walt, I've tried again with disconnected laser power supply and machine stays on, the fuse does not blow.
Many thanks for clear steps regarding what to check.

Shall I still send you pictures, or just buy a replacement?

no just buy a new one but watch that you buy one for 50W .
