New 3 axis CNC machine w/1200 ipm rapids released

    Hi everyone,

We are pleased to announce the introduction of our new 3 axis CNC platform.

With many features including blistering rapid rates. Much more info here.

The website is still a bit rough around the edges.

A woodworking video magazine has also filmed an extensive article on it as well and soon to be released.

    Thanks, Ron

    Neat little machine.

What are you seeing for accuracy/repeatability?

Thanks for the compliments, we are very happy with the machine and it's performance.

    To answer the inquiries:

Repeatability/ Accuracy? The machine pictured uses the encoder feedback to track axis position. We have done extensive testing and it will repeat to within +/- .002". The gantry is driven from both sides through one stepper motor via a line shaft equalizer. It is set up for two steppers if one wishes to add another. Our testing showed it was not needed. The stepper motors are 200 oz-in. The Nema 23 steppers are available up to 500 oz-in on the same mounting pattern. Rapids would be much higher. Approaching pick and place performance. Thats speculation though, it's not been tried.

Drive types? We are using Geckodrives. Of the drive types tested, they were the only one's capable of the high accelerations we were after. Although, we did not test every drive that is available.

    Thanks, Ron
