wierd behavior from motor when spindle is started.

So here's the issue.the machine is homed and ready to go, so I start the spindle manually and my y axis is very slowly moving in very tiny sporadic increments.it's only the y axis, so I switched the y motor to the x and then z axis. All good. Switch a x to the y axis and it does the same movement thingy.driver is a gecko g540. I also tried creating new profile in mach 3 and seemed to work when I did it but is back to movement. Any help with this would be appreciated.

    Noise in the system
Make sure the motor frames etc are grounded back to a central star point ground, which you should have anyway.

Wouldn't the noise cross all the axis then notjust one?

What you described, happened to my cnc. Turned out to be a bad driver. I have Gecko's too. They will test your current driver for you.
