Red face DXF files imported to Autocad

    Hi All
I am new to Autocad ,i have been trying to import parts from model aircraft
plans which are in dxf format, and cannot get the parts to come out to the right size,i have been makeing a new sheet and then cutting and pasteing the parts from the drawing to it and then saveing them.
But the parts come out small , the plans have been given to me
on CD, is there something i should be doing regarding sizeing!!any help would be appreciated.

Are they drawn in mm and your looking for inches? If so, just select everything. Type "scale", and enter 25.4.

Use the dimension tools to see if they are drawn the correct size. When you print, if you are printing from model space, you need to make sure the scale is 1:1, provided they are drawn correctly. WOuld it be possible to post a sample here? Maybe delete all but a small portion, save it and post it and I'll take a look.

Are these parts the correct size as the dimensions show? If so, then when printing, you need to set the scale to 1:1

I opened the file and the wing cord at the fuslage was close to 9" so i think the file is scaled correct. when you print them yes make sure you are printing full scale 1:1 as others suggested, when you say you tryed to cut them then it might be the setup of the machine you are using that needs checked. steps per inch or what have you. I just reaffirming the file seems correct

    :Hi All
Many thanks to you both for coming back, and to you gerry for having a look at the file. well that seems to be the right size so can you tell me if i am doing this right. i have been useing page setup manager ,in the page area select page to model and in the page setup box under plot scale,i have selected scale from list
1:1 is this the correct way to go about it.
as i have said this is all new to me and a friend is convinced the program is not a full version which came on the machine, but it seems to work ok to me , on the other hand it could be that i am an old codger!! and to old to lean.
    Thanks both

Are you printing from the model tab? that sounds right. If you are printing from a layout tab (which is what i would do) then you need to have your viewport scale at 1:1 (select viewport, right click, properties, under misc standard scale 1;1) some more hints on getting the printing to work which is in my opinion one complex subject in autocad is to f1 to get the help files
start looking under plotting, layouts see if you find an answer there.
