Heatbed glue needed ??? I'm trying Nylon and it's not sticking !!!

I purchased nylon and have been trying it. When I loaded the filament it was jerky indicating a higher temp was needed. That's all in the rear view now but I'm having a devil of a time with the nylon not sticking to the plate. Is there some physical treatment needed other than a good clean grease free surface? I want the toughness of nylon for a project.

    Thanks for anything!

    nelZ,

Try fixing some fine sandpaper to your plate, grit up, and print on that.

I used Elmers vanishing purple glue (same as I use for ABS) for a while and it was, well, ok. I ended up having to run the extrusion multiplier out to about 140% for the bottom layer and really smoosh it down.

I've since laid hands on a piece of single sided PCB from an electronics shop, and drilled an 8mm grid of 1.0mm holes to get it all perforated, then roughed it up with some coarse paper before clipping it to the bed. The layer of copper is facing down and seems to spread the heat a little more evenly, and nylon sticks to it like sh6t to a blanket. ABS still needs glue.

Look up "garolite" for more info, but I am super impressed with it.
