    Milltronics conversion from Autocon 40

    Greetings,

Pardon if my post sounds ignorant but I am new to CNC and trying to help out my cousin. He just bought a used Milltronics with Centurion VII control. He has hundreds of programs on his old Dynapath/Autocon 40 control. We need to get these transferred/converted over.

Are there any g-code compatibility issues or best practice methods of getting this done? It would save many hours of programming.

    Thank you in advance.

Re: Milltronics conversion from Autocon 40

There may be others with Dynapath experience that can tell us more about the file structure, kind of code, etc. but here is my opinion (for all that is worth):

This is going to be one of those maybe, it depends answers.

IF the Dynapath code is standard or close to standard EIA code, you may be able to edit the programs to remove the control-specific code and leave just the position moves. Then you can add back in the Milltronics-specific code, or create a conversational program that does the tool changes, etc, and then calls the old Dynapath file for the XYZ positions as a sub-program.

IF NOT, you will need to re-program them.

    Good luck with it.
