About a month ago I was looking on Craig's list and saw a ad for a trophy shop. I found a picture in the ad for an epilog laser. I called the people up and sure enough they were selling the epilog for $1500. I was able to check it out the day after and saw that the laser needed regassing. It has a synrad j-48-2 witch I got a quote for $1200. I talked them down to $1000 and ran!

Before I can make enough money to get the laser regassed, I hooked up a 40w glass tube Chinese laser and power supply. To my amazement, it worked! It is underpowered, but it can engraved albeit at much lower speeds.

I whipped up some snow flakes last night. They came out alright. I need to tweet the frequency a bit more to reduce charring.

I also was able to engrave the first paying job as well!
