    CNC 3020VFD 800W

    I bought a CNC machine from china for my small jewelry business. I set up mach3 as per instructions I set up cnc machine as per instructions everything is hooked up. But i can't get the machines spindle to move at all! I am worried i will either have to return the machine or buy a new computer. The only part of the instructions i could not complete was it asked me to edit the BIOS setup to set up the parrallel port to ECP mode. But in my BIOS their is nothing about parallel ports or any ports at all. Does that mean my computer doesn't support the machine? This seems like a much bigger headache than i anticipated

    I think you don't need another computer...

    but,, you might buy a paralellport card..

    windows in default sets paralellport to ecp.. if theres some conflicts were occurring, then need to buy another paralellport card..

    have you tried to start spindle manually, from the vfd panel?
    don't take me wrong, sometime I forget to turn on power for the vfd and I was in the faith it doesn't work :-)
    I had 2 switch on the router.. one for the vfd

    ================================================== ================

    on other side I using with ncstudio, and on beginning I had a bad day, however since then nothing... everything works fine..

    you might also ask on mach3 forum...

    you also can try to uninstall everything, and reinstall.. sometime helps..

    Rachinator87,

    first of all, do not panic.
    Secondly, please provide a bit more info. Is the machine moving? Is the machine moving the right distances and teh right directions?
    If so, the machine is already connected to your computers parallel port and everything is fine.

    Next, please tell us make and model of the VFD. And make a pic of the connected wires. And upload your XML file. Then we have a bit of a starting point to assist and help you to get the spindle going too.

    By the way, how did you actually try to start the spindle?
