    Question stepper will not enable

Guys, I am stuck and need your help.

I have a Kstep/Kflop combination and want to drive 4 wire NEMA 24 stepper motors.
5V and 48V are connected to Kstep, diode D1 and D2 confirm the connected power.
Software runs, drivers are installed, Kflop is communicating with the software KMotion 4.32. (yes, I updated the firmware of the Kflop).
The stepper motor is connected to channel 0.

All good so far, except that I can't enable the motor. D3 (enable status) stays off.
In the console I can send "EnableAxis0" and it is confirmed with "Ready". I can send "Enabled0" and it confirms with "1". However, D3 stays off.

I tried to use "KStep/InitKStep3Axis.c" as an initialisation file without success.
I also checked all jumbers. Current and voltage limits are correctly set. External 5V is selected and supplied. JP30 (Disable Opto) was tried with and without jumper.JP34/35 (Isolation) are both set. Nothing seems to get hot.

I could not find anything on the internet that did the trick for me. I am thankful for any suggestions / help.

    Re: stepper will not enable

    Problem is solved.
I did the following three steps, however, not sure which one actually did the trick.

    1) I switched back to the older KMotion 4.31.
    2) put back the older firmware 4.31
    3) selected Output Channel 8 for the stepper motor on Channel 0. (Honestly I have no idea why it is not Channel 0.)

Anyway, it seems to work now, except the BodePlot. ...

    Re: stepper will not enable

    Hi Hank,

The enable on KSTEP is controlled by KFLOP IO bit 45. It needs to be set as an Output and Set High to enable KSTEP.

See the section on "Enable KSTEP Amplifiers" here:
    Using KStep

"KStep/InitKStep3Axis.c" is written to watch for motion and to enable KSTEP when there is motion. Then after a few seconds of no motion KSTEP is disabled.

    Please return to Version 4.32

The OutputChan number also needs to be set to 8 as KSTEP requires the Step/Dir signals to be driven as LVTTL signals.

    Regards
