Replacing Syil Stepper Driver With Other driver. No Luck getting motion

I have a used Syil X4 that the previous owner tried replacing the the Z axis motor and driver on. After spending about 8 hours trying to understand why Im not getting anywhere Im finally asking for help.

The driver they replaced it with is a basic chinese 7.8 amp driver and they changed the motor out to a Nema 34 motor, so it needs that driver.

Right now I have the driver connected as follows

CW +/- Pins connected to the Pulse Pins of the Chinese driver
DR/CC pins connected to the Dir +/- pins

I have left enable unconnected so it should always be enabled. But at this point I'm not even getting motor lock.

Do you guys have any suggestions. I am attaching both driver manuals.

Is 5 volts d.c. present on the + dir and +step pin?

I neglected to ask if the + enable has 5 volts also?

Enable on those mondo steps is set automatically if left unplugged so that's the way I have it. The driver is always enabled.

Please try applying 5 volts to the + enable and see if the motor locks up.

Typically each input has 2 pins. Internally it is a LED with a series current limit resistor.
The pins are labeled + and - apply 5v to the plus and ground the -

Usually you connect all the +'s together, and drive the -'s to 0v.

I have seen some drivers that MUST have enable powered as above, else the motor is free.
Done this way, if the 5v part of the system fails then the motor is not powered, and becomes free.
Nice idea, except if your Z axis is heavy enough to freewheel to the ground when powered off.

Also, if you mix up the A+, A- and B+ and B- then no current will flow through the windings.

A-A goes to one winding. B-B goes to the other. Very important there are no loose connections, as intermittent connection s will kill most drivers.
If the windings have center taps, leave the center tap floating.

The Syil driver enable inputs are left floating for normal operation. Same for the Mondostep as in the PDF you posted.

I must have had the +- inputs flipped in on the ribbon. I checked my voltages and plugged then into what seemed right and BAM axis moves. Pretty excited. No I just need to find a better wire hook up then bread board jumper wires.
