newbie starting new project, need help with original design.

starting new project, would like to run 3 servos with encoders, please help.
my level of expertise is minimal, i've read all the manuals, got 4 each kplm2g japan servo co gearhead motors to turn using the stepgenie chips. Only to find out, feedback with steppers is to far beyond anything worth pursuing (for me anyway).
would like to start over with the right servos and encoders that match. however, i need suggestions on how to proceed, please help.
