Guys

A machine has presented itself at a good price, done very little work but has a siemans 840c/611 siemens control that is in need of repair, a cnc service tech has looked at it and gave after not solving the problem and the machine has sat for years since.

My thoughts were to get the machine for a steal and retrofit a gsk panel to the machine and hopefully retain the siemans drives and servo motors.

One thing I don’t really know is what role the 611a plays in it all.
The gsk panel has inbuilt plc and +/-10v output so would this panel be able to be used with the simodrive or does the simodrive 611a handle plc functions and more therefore meaning the siemans gear and gsk panel will not work together.

If the simodrive will not work with the gsk panel will the siemans servos work with other drives or do I have to replace the axis motors and drives and the spindle motors and drives?
