Ignore the hole. Forgot to zero the Z. Everything before the "I" is wrong. What could possibly cause this? Everything is strapped down good so there is no material movement. The machine will consistently make these movements.

I would try it again and if you see the same problem then I would suspect that your step setting for the x and or y are not correct.

Have you tried routing out a circular path?

I've tried it multiple times. The issue looks a little different when I take the arc out. It seems the X will "forget" (for lack of better word) where it is. So one leg of the M will be longer than the other or an S will be a little squished. It is definitely the X axis but I'm not sure what causes it.

The issue first showed up when cutting circles. It would get to the same place and be off at different depths but always in the same place.

What program? I have heard of this happening when people are trying to use bootleg copies of v carve and aspire.

Cut your velocity and acceleration in half and see if it helps.

I've tried slower speeds. I also did find a loose setscrew. I ran it again after taking care of both. Same issue.

replace cutting tool with a pen and do some testing on paper. draw circles, squares, diagonals, your failed program also.
try slowing down and speeding up. watch closely as it moves. any strange noises?
grab your spindle and force it around by hand. does it move?

post your gcode. maybe like Klawz said, you might have a bum cam program.

I knew it was a vectric program. They act EXACTLY like that when you have a hacked copy.

If you got it straight from them or not you may want to check your install and how you activated it.

Goode isn't the issue. I've actually run the same program and had no issues previous to this problem. It started on a bigger job. I had finished the job and wanted to cut it a little deeper so I restarted the program. Nothing seemed out of ordinary until it started cutting small circles and it cut them bad out of round.

How in the world do you get a hacked copy that was downloaded from the Vectric site?

It's not the download it's how it was activated.

I don't have any of their programs but I have seen guys going around about this on other forums.

In those cases it was to buy a legit copy, they had some wild safeguard built into the software to prevent piracy.

But if you insist that you bought it from them I suggest you call them.

If it's not the gcode, then it is your machine.
Can you post the gcode and a picture of your machine?
are you familiar of the sound of a stalled stepper? maybe this is happening intermittently.
any other loose setscrews? even if they are tight, the interface between pulley and shaft can slip back and forth, and it is hard to tell without marking each, and checking often.
