    blue screen of death

    this my first post.i have been reading for last few months.i have recently
    purchsaed a shoptask,tripower with cnc set up.i have not recieved it yet,
    so i downloaded mach3 to get familar with it.my computer is a lap top
    with no 25 pin printer port.when i shut off the computer it locked up,called hp
    and they got my computer back running. should i uninstall mach3?? if so how

    Hello and welcome to the forum. The subject of your post referenced a blue screen crash - at what point did that happen? By the way, unless you have a special controller for your motors Mach software must have a real parallel port on the PC. USB to parallel port converters will not work.

    the screen locked up when i tried to shut down computer. this has only happened after i downloaded mach3. is it possible to uninstall and reinstall
    without the driver and use as a test program.?

    Yes, it is possible to install without the driver. See if you can fix the CPU speed by disabling any battery conservation option it might have. Also, be sure to wait a minute or two after quitting Mach before you turn the PC off or put it in any stand-by mode. The engine remains running for a few seconds after Mach unloads.

    open the mach folder and click on the special driver ,
    should fix your problem
